Imagery emerging through composition

The paintings from 2018 developed through an increasingly intuitive process. Figures, animals, and symbolic motifs appeared rapidly, as if emerging from a continuous stream of visual ideas. Rather than beginning with a fixed narrative, the images developed through the act of composing shapes and spatial relationships across the surface.

During this time, I began to trust a more unconscious approach to painting. Forms revealed themselves gradually as the composition evolved, and color was applied in the same instinctive manner. This period marked an important realization in my practice: that imagery arises naturally through the process of painting itself, with meaning emerging from the relationships between forms.
